July 11, 2007 What's the hold up?
July started as one of the driest on record
for many of the United States. Yet, as the drought drug on, FredHeads were
buoyed by the excitement of a July 4th announcement by our favorite
non-candidate. With explosions of fireworks and tributes to the Star
Spangled Banner, the American holiday would have been a tremendous launching
date to the campaign we all await.
July 4th came and went
without so much as a hint to an upcoming announcement. As the weeks drag
on, those close to Fred are being more committal than Fred himself. During
one interview with Tennessee Senator and writer of the forward to "The Fred Factor",
Zach Wamp assured the listeners that Fred Thompson's forthcoming announcement is
a practical certainty. Citing that political campaigns have started way
too early for the '08 election as the reason why no formal announcement has been
made, Wamp sounded as if he wanted to make the announcement himself.
Politicians understand timing
far better than the citizens who vote. However, it seems an opportunity is
being squandered. Fred Thompson enjoys an unprecedented groundswell of
grassroots support. Fredheads believe in his potential.
Fredheads know he can very well be the next President of the United States.
This support should be nurtured, not pushed aside and asked to stand-by forever.
The time has come.
Enough with the ambiguities. Enough with those around you being more
decisive that you are.
Let's hear it Fred.
Take your hat off and throw it into the ring.
We are behind you all the
way.
